Dr. Damyen Davis is one of the founders of Phi Psi Lambda Leadership Society, Inc, and is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Dr. Davis is credited to being the visionary behind Phi Psi Lambda Leadership Society, Inc. as he is charged with leading and guiding the overall operations and growth of the organization. Dr. Davis is a highly passionate, energetic, and dynamic advocate for the advancement and empowerment of people of color (POC). A psychologist, educator, consultant, and life coach, Dr. Davis’ goals are to empower people to overcome challenges that impede personal, professional, emotional, psychological, and academic advancement.
Dr. Davis’ area of expertise focuses on students of color in areas of academic achievement and motivation with a specific interest in developing ways to reduce the attrition rate of African American and Latinx students at the post-secondary level. In his research, he has investigated the intersection of race, ethnicity, and gender, and its implication for identity development and educational attainment. He has written on the socialization of masculinity among African American and Latinx boys as mediated by their relationships with significant individuals, as well as the micro and macro-level structures and psychosocial experiences that influence African American and Latinx students’ educational experiences.
Dr. Davis is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated and a proud alumnus of Hampton University. He has a bachelor’s degree in History, a master’s degree in Developmental Psychology, and a Doctorate Degree in Counseling Psychology.
Joshua H. Jimenez is a member of the top governing and executive board and second in command of the organization’s governing and executive leadership. Throughout the years, Vice-Chairman Jimenez has consistently showcased strong leadership and unwavering commitment to the Phi Psi Lambda vision, earning him great respect. Vice-Chairman Jimenez was honored with induction into the prestigious Alpha Chapter Phi Psi Lambda Leadership Society, Inc. on December 21, 2018. Vice-Chairman Jimenez has proven to be a highly dedicated and involved member of the Alpha Chapter. Ever since taking on the nobility, Vice-Chairman Jimenez has occupied the esteemed roles of Treasure, Vice-President, and Marketing & Promotions Director of the Alpha Chapter. Currently, he holds the position of Chapter Advisor of the Alpha Chapter.
Vice-Chairman Jimenez achieved a degree in Exercise Science from Montclair State University in 2023. Vice-Chairman Jimenez is deeply passionate about addressing racial injustices. He understands the need for significant efforts to address the current legislation that infringes upon the rights of people of color (POC), particularly within the criminal justice system. He is dedicated to promoting awareness and driving change by actively participating in local advocacy organizations and engaging in dialogues surrounding systemic racism.
As a member of the organization's top three executive members, Vice-Chairman Were’s role is providing and implementing high-level initiatives that will guide the organization in achieving its strategic plans.
Vice-Chairman Were is an undergraduate student at New Jersey Institute of Technology where he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering.
Vice-Chairman Were has an extensive and impressive leadership portfolio, which is matched by his academic achievements. Vice-Chairman Were has gained extensive experience in leadership positions, such as serving as the Treasurer of the Alpha Chapter. He has held the position of Director of Recruitment within the Bergen Community College’s Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society. Vice-Chairman Were is motivated by making a positive impact. Vice-Chairman Were has always been deeply committed to social justice. He strongly values diversity, inclusion, and equity opportunities for everyone. With his extensive involvement in various organizations, Vice-Chairman Were has played a crucial role in establishing inclusive campus spaces for individuals from diverse backgrounds through active engagement with the campus community.
